Remarkable and rare vintage Comme des Garcons piece from the Spring/Summer 1984 'Round Rubber' Collection, one of Rei Kawakubo's earlier runways (similar shown here documented). This piece is absolutely stunning! Based on the coding on the tags, it's intended use is a skirt, but, as you can see from our photos, this multi-functional piece can be worn as a cape, dress, skirt... the possibilities are endless if you use your imagination. It is basically a very wide cut continuous loop, with various ties that can be worn in a variety of ways, and a stitched gather at one of the sides. Beautiful, soft charcoal rayon with a white brushstroke like print throughout. A collector's piece whose counterparts are typically found in museums.
